The Department of tourism has been established on the basis of the Department of Tourism and hospitality management since August 2023. Today, the department has 24 professors, of which 14 are active in the main state (of which 3 are PhD), 10 on a bench basis (of which 1 is Doctor of Science, 1 is candidate of Science, 2 is PhD). The department trains personnel in the specialty 61010400 – “tourism (in areas of activity)” (Uzbek and Russian groups), 61010100 - organization and management of the hotel economy and 71010401 - tourism (in types of activities). Today, the department teaches more than 50 subjects. 10 employees of the department are conducting their own research work in doctoral studies and as an independent researcher.

As a result of the research work carried out in the reporting year, they took part in 54 scientific articles, including 50 scientific lecture theses at various scientific conferences.
