On October 13, 2021, a delegation consisting of representatives of the Turkic states and Turkic peoples who are members of the Turksoy organization visited Urgench State University.
The guests were greeted by the administration of UrSU in front of the university building with joyful sounds of karnay-sorna.
The "Meeting of Turkish World Poets" was organized on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the death of the great Turkish poet Yunus Emre.
Yunus Emre is highly regarded as a poet and Sufi who had a great influence on Turkish literature. The 40th session of UNESCO also decided to call 2021 the year of a number of figures of the Islamic world - Haji Bektash Vali, Yunus Emre and Axi Evran.
The meeting was attended by Turkish poets Arili Duydog, Khojageldi Kultegin, Tahir Kahhor, Akbar Goshali, Taleh Mansur, Kenan Charbog'a, Aysha Paslanmaz Leila Sherif Emin, representatives of Khoram Regional Administration, members of the Writers' Union, as well as students and youth who are familiar with poetry.
During the meeting, lectures and works of poets in the delegation and faculties of the university were listened to, as well as a poetry contest was held. Artistic performances were presented by creative students of the Faculty of Philology.
Before the departure, the guests were presented with memorable gifts with the emblem of the university.
