On April 21, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Uzbekistan Agostino Pinna and the Italian scientist Pietro Giuseppe Fre visited Urgench State University.
Distinguished guests were welcomed by the leadership of UrSU. At the beginning of the visit, a meeting was held with members of the delegation and the rector of UrSU Bakhrom Abdullayev, chairman of the Khorezm Mamun Academy Ikram Abdullayev and vice-rectors of UrSU. During the meeting, the guests were introduced to the cooperation of Urgench State University with Italian higher education institutions in recent years. Information was provided on the activities of the university, the conditions created for students, the material and technical base. They also agreed on the work to be done in the future to further strengthen cooperation in the field of higher education.
Afterwards, a presentation of Professor Pietro Giuseppe Fre's book "Numbers, Books and Infinity" was held in the conference hall of UrSU. Professors and teachers of UrSU, young scientists, students and representatives of the Khorezm Mamun Academy, attended it.
During the presentation, Professor Pietro Giuseppe Fre spoke and introduced his book, "Numbers, Books and Infinity", to the audience.
The book "Numbers, Books and Infinity" describes the development of mathematical thinking, the mathematical heritage of Euclid, Archimedes, Eudoth, Eratosthenes, the achievements and development of mathematics in the period of the great mathematician of the Eastern Renaissance, the founder of Algebra Al-Khwarizmi, the European Renaissance and the New Age to the present day. The book contains very interesting facts about the history and life of Al-Khwarizmi, the work of the great thinker and mathematician. The book contains many new facts about the scientist that we did not know before. The book consists of 13 chapters, each dedicated to the life and work of scientists who took mathematics to new heights.
After the presentation, through the Zoom platform, academician Azimboy Sadullayev expressed his valuable views on the work and acknowledged the book's place and practical importance in the world of mathematics.
Rector of UrSU Bahrom Abdullayev and head of the Department of Exact Sciences of the Khorezm Mamun Academy Umida Boltaeva also noted that the book is an invaluable legacy for future generations, especially young mathematicians. The students thanked Professor Pietro Giuseppe Fre for the valuable work.
After that, the guests were given gifts.
At the end of the visit, the delegation toured the campus and had a conversation at the Al-Khwarizmi statue.
