In recent years, a number of decrees and decisions have been signed on the initiative of the President on the rapid development of the tourism sector in Uzbekistan, and the tourism sector has been recognized as one of the strategic sectors of the economy. At the same time, today a number of state higher education institutions are determined to further develop the field of tourism in our country.
In particular, Urgench State University is considered one of the higher education institutions providing tourism education based on the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-135. In this regard, our university not only provides tourism education, but also makes a scientific and practical contribution to increasing the tourist potential of Khiva and Bogot districts of our region.
Today, on August 29, at the 1st meeting of the Council held before the new academic year of Urgench State University, the university rector Abdullayev Bakhrom Ismoilovich was awarded the prize of the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan for his contribution to the development of tourism. Ceremonial handing over of the "Tourism Devotee" badge was a worthy gift for the university team on the 33rd anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This badge was handed over by B.Saidov, deputy mayor of Khorezm region for tourism, sports, culture, cultural heritage and mass communications.
