According to the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-270 dated July 19, 2024, the 1st week of October was declared the "Week of Remembrance of Political Repressions" in our country. In this regard, today at the Urgench State University a commemorative night event on the topic "Historical memory and spiritual education - the foundation of New Uzbekistan" was held in cooperation with the Khorezm Regional Department of the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment and the "Memorial of Repression Victims" museum within the university structure. A group of luminaries of our region, professors and teachers of the university and students took part in it. Rector of Urgench State University B.Abdullayev opened the event, spoke about Turkestan and its integral part of Jadidism, and talked about the work being done to commemorate the victims of repression.
The head of the Khorezm regional branch of the Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment - B. Abdrimov, director of the museum - Y.Rahmonova, a descendant of the victim of the repression Oxun bobo - Atajon Eshon Abdurahim Khoji, and the adviser of the regional intelligence department, colonel, critic of the victims of repression - R. Rahimov attended in the event. They spoke about the life of the devotees of our people who fought for the freedom of the Motherland. The reasons and consequences of the repression of intellectuals, their contribution to the achievement of today's medical days, and the large-scale good works carried out to vindicate the name and perpetuate the memory of our compatriots who were repressed were recognized. They expressed their opinions about the origin of the Jadidism movement and its manifestations.
