An extraordinary meeting of the Council was held in connection with the naming of the Urgench State University after Abu Rayhan Biruni

Today, on January 18, an extraordinary Council meeting was held in connection with the naming of the Urgench State University after Abu Rayhan Biruni. This Council meeting is a very important event. Therefore, giving the name of Abu Rayhan Biruni to the university is not only an honor but also a great responsibility. 

The meeting of the council was chaired by the acting rector of the university, Prof. S. Khodjaniyazov, and he informed the team that Urgench State University was named after Abu Rayhan Biruni and introduced them with a certificate. He warmly congratulated the members of the team. He acknowledged the tasks facing the university.

Chairman of the Committee on Science, Education, and Health Affairs of the Oliy Majlis Senate, Bakhrom Abdullayev, also participated in the meeting. Noting that this good work, which started almost 7 years ago, was supported by our country and reflected in the President's decision, he sincerely congratulated the team on the realization of this honorable recognition. He spoke about the steps taken to give the name of Abu Rayhan Beruni to the university. At the same time, B. Abdullayev expressed his important suggestions regarding the work that should be done at the university to promote and study the heritage of Abu Rayhan Biruni.

Also the head of the Khorezm Region Department of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Z. Sadullayev, and honored teachers who have been working at the university for many years spoke about the place of Abu Rayhan Biruni in the world civilization, giving the name of a great scientist to the university. On the one hand, it is to honor the heritage of the past; on the other hand, it serves to increase the interest in science among young people. Moreover, this name is the university's international reputation. They noted that it not only increases the reputation but also encourages the younger generation to study the heritage of our great ancestors. 

In fact, giving the name of Abu Rayhan Biruni encourages our students to acquire higher education, and it is an incentive for them to follow in the footsteps of great people like Biruni.
