Today, on the occasion of “February 11—International Women in Science Day,” a meeting on the topic “A learned woman is the support of society” was organized at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni. It was attended by the Deputy Governor of Khorezm region, Head of the Department of Family and Women N. Kutlimurodova, Chairman of the Board of the Regional Branch of the Women's Association “Olima” M.Iskandarova, a group of honorary teachers of the university, women scientists, female students, and guests.
The event was opened by Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovations Z.Ibragimov with an introductory speech and touched upon the role of women in science and their contribution to the development of society.
In her speech, Deputy Khorezm Regional Governor N.Kutlimurodova touched upon the issues of increasing women's interest in science and further supporting their scientific activities and reflected on the work and projects being implemented in our region in this regard.
During the event, the chairman of the board of the regional branch of the "Olima" Association of Uzbekistan, associate professor M. Iskandarova, member of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, associate professor, "Shuhrat" medal winner S.Samandarova, honorary teachers of UrSU S.Masharipova, T.Qalandarova, A.Jumanazarova, chairman of the UrSU Women's "Olima" Association, associate professor Sh.Nurullayeva, UrSU Rector's Advisor for Women's Affairs N.Atajanova, and the head of the "Uzbek Linguistics" department, prof. acting, Ph.D. Sh.Norbayeva, many women scientists exchanged views on their scientific research, achievements, and scientific life path. Sharing their experience with students, they called on young researchers to be active in the field of science.
At the end of the event, actively participating female scientists and talented students were awarded with certificates of appreciation and certificates.
