Today, on April 28, the Director of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Institute of Folklore, Prof.Hikmet Kuliyev, and the scientific staff of the institute visited Urgench State University.
During the visit, an official meeting was held with the participation of the Acting rector of UrSU, S.Khodjaniyazov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, G.Urazbayev, Dean of the Faculty of Philology and Arts, D.Gayipov, heads of departments of the faculty, relevant officials. It was noted that the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, the depth of historical, cultural and spiritual ties, the commonality of language and traditions, and strong ties based on mutual respect and trust were recognized.
In the meeting issues of establishing scientific and cultural ties between the two universities were considered and a memorandum of cooperation was signed. This memorandum provides for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two universities in conducting advanced scientific research, developing new scientific projects, and publishing joint scientific publications.
After the official meeting, the guests got acquainted with the "Yusif Vazir Chamanzaminli Azerbaijani-Uzbek Friendship Center" established at the Faculty of Philology and Arts and they participated in the teaching process.
