In connection with the Days of Culture and Literature of Azerbaijan on October 20-23, 2021 in Urgench, Khorezm region, a delegation led by a member of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Ganira Pashayeva visited Urgench State University in the framework of the project "Days of Culture and Literature of Azerbaijan" on October 22, 2021.  The guests were solemnly welcomed by the university administration and students.

At the beginning of the visit, an event was organized at the University Culture Hall with the participation of members of the delegation. The event was attended by representatives of the Khorezm regional administration, members of the Writers' Union, well-known artists of the region, poets, university faculties and students.

Opening the meeting, the Rector of UrSU Bahrom Abdullayev thanked Ganira Pashayeva, a member of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, and all members of the delegation for the visit. He stressed that such visits are one of the manifestations of high-level multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, the basis of interstate relations between the two countries is a strong bond of friendship dating back to the distant past and the commonality of brotherhood, cultures, languages and traditions.

Rector Bahrom Abdullayev awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Urgench State University to Ganira Pashayeva, Chairwoman of the Committee on Culture of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, stateswoman and public figure, journalist and poet.

In addition, for his skill in the field of culture, contribution to the development of mutual cooperation and active participation in spiritual and educational events held at the University, to Samir Abasov, director of the Azerbaijan cultural center named after Heydar Aliyev,and to the members of the delegation handed over the honorary certificate and symbolic memorable gifts of the University. In turn, the members of the delegation presented their souvenirs, gifts reflecting the national culture of Azerbaijan.

The director of the cultural center of Azerbaijan in Tashkent, professor Bobokhon Sharipov also took part in the event and spoke about the historical closeness of the two fraternal peoples.

During the meeting, a presentation of the book " Addim-addim O‘zbekistan " by Ganira Pashayeva, a member of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, was held, and the author introduced the book to the audience.

At the end of the meeting, artistic performances of the members of this delegation and students of the Faculty of Philology were performed.
