About the department of “Physics”
The Department of Physics of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics began its work in 1933-1936 as the Department of Physics and Mathematics.
In 1936, P.A. Burov, an associate professor of physics from Leningrad, was invited to work at the institute. In the 1936 academic year, P.A. Burov established the Department of Physics and Mathematics at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics and a physics laboratory that can meet modern requirements. P.A. Burov (1935 - 1936, 1941 - 1942) also worked as the head of the department during the academic years.
In the 1941-1942 academic year, the head of the "Physics" department of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute, prof. E. Strauss comes to work. He worked here as the head of the department of physics and mathematics and the dean of the faculty (1944-1945 academic years).
From the 1945-1946 academic year, the talented mathematician H.S. Siddikov worked as the dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics and the head of the Department of Physics and Mathematics. Before and after the war, the Department of Physics and Mathematics was taught by physics teachers B.D. Yanoshev (1939-1970), F.K. Sadretdinova (1945-1970).
In the post-war years to strengthen the material, the technical and educational-scientific-methodological base of the department B.D. Yanoshev, F.K. Sadretdinova, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences M.S. Saidov (now UzR.FA - academician); The services of. K. Ruzimov, S. Bobojonov, M.I. Badullayev, and R. Umarova were great.
Urgench State University was established based on the Khorezm State Pedagogical Institute by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF-356 of February 28, 1992.
From 1992 to 1997 the department was headed by Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor G. Aripov. During this time, members of the department researched the field of "The effect of temperature, radiation, and particles on the matter."
From 1997 to 2010 the department was headed by Associate Professor A.E. Atamuratov, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. From April 2010 to April 2011 he was the head of the department, Ph.D. U.O. Kutliyev, in 2011-2016 - Associate Professor U.A. Aminov held this position. In 2016-2017, the candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, associate professor A.E. Atamuratov, Ph.D. from 2017. UO Kutliyev holds this position.
Currently, the department conducts research in the field of "Physics of semiconductors and dielectrics", "Physical Ecology", "History of Physics and Astronomy", "Study of the possibility of using renewable energy sources in Khorezm." The department cooperates with the Institute of Physics and Technology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the Institute of Laser and Ion Plasma and Nuclear Physics, and the National University of Uzbekistan.
The scientific-methodical seminar "Physics of semiconductors and dielectrics", founded by Professor A. Yusupov, is headed by Associate Professor A.E. Atamuratov. The department has a special circle "Solving interesting problems in physics" and a special circle for gifted students "Solving physical problems on a computer."
At present, the department has two doctors of physics and mathematics, four candidates of physics and mathematics, three doctors of physics and mathematics (Ph.D.), seven senior teachers, five teachers, and one senior laboratory assistant. Etta laboratory assistant, working. The department has two doctoral students in the field of "Semiconductor Physics" and "Physical Electronics". The department has master's programs in "Physics (by field)" and "Renewable Energy Sources and Sustainable Environmental Physics".
Department of Semiconductor Technology, Braunschweig Technical University, Germany, Santiago de Campostella University, Spain, Pennsylvania State University, Vienna University of Technology, Austria, Cambridge University, Strasbourg University, Libre University, Belgium has been doing.
Chair Professor U.O. Kutliev researched at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States in 2002, the University of Technology in Vienna, Austria in 2003-2004, and the University of Strasbourg in France, and the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom in 2004. In 2005, he became an assistant professor at the University of Libre in Belgium, where he lectured on The Methods of Computer Simulation in Physics. In 2004, he became the first Uzbek scientist to attend the 54th International Conference of Nobel Laureates.
Associate Professor A.E. Atamuratov returned to Braunschweig Technical University in 2010 and 2011, and in 2010 to the University of Santiago de Campostella in Spain. Student Matniyozov Zokir studied at the University of Santiago de Campostella in Spain for 10 months.
From 2007 to 2021, the Department of Physics produced several candidates and doctors of science. Of these, Sh.K. Ismailov (2007), M.Q.Qurbanov (2012), H.Sh.
