The department of "Sports activities" was established on September 2, 2020, and now it is divided into 61010300 - Sports activities (women's sports) and 61010300 - Sports activities (types of activities) and preparing training personnel on volleyball, basketball, handball, football, badminton , table tennis, freestyle wrestling, wrestling, judo, weightlifting bachelors in general secondary education schools, academic lyceums and vocational colleges, physical education for children and youth sports schools and Qualified physical culture teacher and coaches. At the same time, it conducts practical training in "Physical education and sports" in the 1st year of all undergraduate courses of the university.

The department is carrying out educational, scientific-methodical, spiritual-educational, research and other types of work in accordance with prospective and current annual plans. The department conducts lectures, laboratory, practical and other types of training at a high theoretical, scientific-methodical and professional level in accordance with the state educational standards of higher education in all forms of education and successfully conducts students' professional practice, course projects, graduation qualification works, master's dissertations, as well as independent work.

Today, 1 professor, 2 associate professors, 7 senior teachers and 13 professor-teachers are working in the department. Currently, 3 professors-teachers of the department (DSc) are working on doctoral dissertations. 6 of them (PhD) are working on the basis of independent research to obtain a doctorate degree.

It is possible to have the qualifications to carry out scientific and pedagogical activities in the educational process of physical education and physical culture, to conduct teaching and coaching activities in physical education classes and extracurricular sports activities, to manage physical education and sports in state non-governmental organizations, physical education in pre-school educational institutions or to carry out coaching activities in sports at sports school boarding schools.
