June 6-10, 2022 at Urgench State University, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, Institute of Mathematics named after V.I. Ramonov at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, CIMPA - Center International de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées, IMU-International Mathematical Union and RNTA - Roman number theory association and WAMS - West Asia Mathematical Schools are holding an international school on " Lattices, Diophantine Approximation and Heights ".
The main purpose of this international school is to increase the interest of young people in the theory of numbers in Uzbekistan, the development of number theory in our country. It was organized in collaboration with the International Center for Fundamental and Applied Mathematics in France and the International Society of Mathematicians, and was attended by leading scientists in the United States, Italy, and Russia. During the week, they will teach the most important innovations in number theory and practical classes to 60 students from Uzbekistan.
In this regard, today, June 6, the opening ceremony of the school was held at the Palace of Culture of UrSU. The opening ceremony was moderated by Z. Ibragimov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of UrSU. Project coordinators Lenny Fukshansky and Valerio Talamancalar also spoke to the students about the purpose and practical significance of the project.
After that, the scheduled classes began.
