Mr. Srinivasan Mani, the second secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of India in Tashkent, and Ms. Sudha, a teacher of Indian culture (yoga teacher), visited Urganch State University today as part of their visit to our region to participate in the events organized in Urganch and Khiva on June 16 in connection with the International Yoga Day.
The guests were welcomed by the vice-rector for academic affairs of UrSU, prof. S. Khodjaniyozov and the head of the "English language and literature" department, prof. J. Ermetova warmly welcomed them,after it the parties had an official meeting.
At the meeting, warm thoughts were expressed about the cultural and humanitarian relations between Uzbekistan and India, as well as the bonds of mutual friendship. It was hoped that the "International Yoga Day" events, which have been traditionally held since 2015, will further strengthen these friendships. The guests made proposals for the further expansion and development of the joint project "India study room" and "ITEC" scholarship projects for those who want to study in India.
At the end of the meeting, the guests were presented with the first copy of the book "Bobotil" written by Professor O. Jumaniyozov and his student D. Jumaniyozov about the ancient Indian language - Sanskrit.
After that, they conducted yoga classes in the gym of the Faculty of Physical Culture.
