Today, May 18 - on the occasion of the "International Day of Museums", a conference entitled "Heritage of the past is the foundation of our future" was organized in the museum "Memorial of Repression Victims" in the structure of Urgench State University.
Professors and teachers of Urgench State University, students, schoolchildren and teachers, veterans and permanent guests of the museum took part in it. The Rector of Urgench State University Bakhrom Abdullayev opened the conference with an introduction and spoke about the establishment of this museum and its current activities.
Speakers at the conference spoke about our rich history, cultural heritage and values, and acknowledged the role of museums in passing them on to future generations.
At the end of the conference, the youngsters who actively participated in the art exhibition and scientific article competition called "Jadidlar heritage - the foundation of our future" with their creative works related to patriotism, Turkestan and its inseparable part of Jadidism were announced. They were duly awarded by UrSU rector B.Abdullayev and director of museum Y.Rahmonova.
