On January 9, 2025, a scientific-theoretical seminar on the topic "National and Cultural Features of Speech Etiquette in English and Uzbek" was held at the Department of "English Language and Literature" of the Faculty of Foreign Philology, conducted by the department's teacher Matyakubov Zohid . The scientific-theoretical seminar was attended by the professors and teachers of the "English Language and Literature" department. Matyakubov Zohid provided information during the seminar about the linguistic and speech units in Uzbek and English, their national and cultural characteristics, and their similarities and differences. He analyzed the equivalents of speech units in the Uzbek language in English. During the seminar, the necessity of considering national characteristics for the appropriate use of these units was emphasized.The participants discussed the topic and recommendations were made for further research.
