On February 14 of this year, the next stage of the "Poetry Podium" competition, which is being held at the initiative of the Faculty of Philology and arts, was held at the Palace of Culture of Urgench State University. Students studying in the Uzbek and Russian languages competed in this competition, promoting the creative heritage of great poets.
The Dean of the faculty of Philology and arts, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor D.Gayipov opened the competition and spoke about the figure of the great king and poet Zakhiriddin Muhammad Babur. He spoke about the role of the artistic word, poetry in enriching the spiritual world of man, and the importance of young people's participation in such competitions.
This stage of the competition was organized based on the works of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur and Omon Matjon for students of the Uzbek language department, and Vasily Zhukovsky Andreyevich for students of the Russian language department.
Competition conditions:
Expressive memorization - participants recited 10 poems by selected authors in artistic performance.
Bahr-u bayt - participants competed among themselves based on their memorized poems.
The competitions were very intense and interesting. Students felt the works of the authors from the heart and presented them in their own unique interpretation. The 3rd grade students of Urgench comprehensive school No. 6 were guests at the competition and performed beautiful dances.
The jury members, including the head of the department of "Uzbek language and literature" of the Faculty of Philology and arts, associate professor B. Rahimova, evaluated the participants' performances and determined the winners of the competition.

1st place: Rahmanova Iroda (Uzbek language group 231)
2nd place: Saidova Mashhura (Uzbek language group 243)
3rd place: Sotiboldiyeva Munisa (Uzbek language group 242)
In addition, other students who actively participated in the competition were also encouraged and awarded honorary and commemorative gifts.
This competition served to increase the love of young people for poetry, promote the great literary heritage, and develop the skills of artistic speech, leaving an unforgettable impression on all participants and spectators.
