Today, on April 8, Carol Pontais, CEO of Voltalia Tashkent, and a group of company representatives visited Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni. During the visit, negotiations were held with the university leadership, led by the acting rector S.Khodjaniyazov.
It is worth noting that Voltalia Tashkent is the representative office of the international renewable energy company Voltalia in Uzbekistan, established in Tashkent on July 13, 2023. Voltalia Tashkent is actively participating in the implementation of plans set by the government of Uzbekistan to increase the volume of renewable energy production by 2030. The company aims to produce environmentally friendly and affordable electricity in the country by introducing solar, wind, and battery storage technologies. Currently, the “100 MW solar power plant” project is being implemented in the Khorezm region.
After mutual discussions, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two parties. According to it, it was agreed to jointly develop educational programs with this company for bachelor's and master's students of Urgench State University and jointly train specialists in the field of renewable energy.
In addition, Voltalia will cooperate in providing young graduates with modern skills and knowledge in their field by developing technical vocational education programs. This will help ensure that specialists are prepared for the labor market. Urgench State University has also agreed to organize internships and training processes for undergraduate and graduate students. This will provide students with an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and practical skills in the energy sector.
