Professors and teachers of the Faculty of History of Urgench State University U.Abdalov, R.Aniyozov, U.Mahmudov, U.Khojamuratov, Sh.Kadambaev and students of the faculty, archeologists of Khorezm Mamun Academy R.Abdrimov, B.Sa'dullayev, Sh.Rakhimov and F.Tadjiyeva are conducting archeological internship at the monument "Katkala" in Shovot district.
The research explores the cultural layers of the archaic period, the ancient period, the early Middle Ages, and the developed Middle Ages. The excavations revealed a variety of pottery, jars, jugs, pottery, jugs, human and animal statues. Architectural structures from the earliest times, as well as the remains of recent settlements, have also been studied. These studies serve to study the problems of urban culture in South Khorezm from the archaic period to the Middle Ages.
