As previously reported, on June 8 this year, Urgench State University will host a symposium "Two great, our national poets - Mehmet Akif Ersoy and Abdulhamid Sulaymon oglu Cholpon."
In order to participate in this symposium, a delegation consisting of 30 participants from the Republic of Turkey visited.
Today, June 7, the delegation met with university officials. The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of UrSU S. Khodjaniyazov, Dean of the Faculty of Philology D. Gayipov, Head of the Regional Department of the Republican Center for Spirituality and Education B. Abdirimov and members of the delegation.
At the beginning of the official meeting, the guests were briefed on Urgench State University, its current cooperation with Turkish higher education institutions, official visits, as well as events held in cooperation with the Faculty of Philology.
During the meeting, Vice-Rector S.Khodjaniyazov noted that the symposium is held at the initiative of the Faculty of Philology, acknowledging the great interest of our students in Turkish culture and literature, and expressed a desire to further strengthen cooperation in this area.
In turn, the guests expressed their gratitude for the warm hospitality and spoke about the importance of the symposium. They expressed their views on the promotion of the culture and literature of the two peoples, especially among young people, the translation of works of Turkish writers into Uzbek, and the works of Uzbek writers into Turkish.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged gifts.
