History of the Department of Fruit and Vegetable growing.
The Department of “Storage and Processing of Agricultural Products“ of the Faculty of Bioengineering and Food Safety was established in 2020, in accordance with the new structure of the Urgench State University, the Department of “Storage and Processing of Agricultural Products“ of the Faculty of Bioengineering and Food Safety was transformed into the Department of “Fruit and Vegetable Growing” of the Faculty of Bioengineering and Food Safety 2022 in the year of the foundation of the department 3 associate professors, 1 senior lecturer and 4 teachers, a total of 8 teachers worked.
In total, in the 2022 academic year, the department had three directions: "5411700 - organization and management of greenhouse farming", "5411000 - fruit growing and viticulture", "5411600 -vegetable growing, melon growing and potato growing". A total of 53 students were enrolled in this academic year (12 of them men, 41 women).
Head of the Department ”Fruit and Vegetable growing" K.X.F.F.D., S.Sadullaev and Dean of the Faculty of Bioengineering and Food Safety K.X.F.N., dots J.Ro ' Zimov jointly in November 2022, the Russian Federation signed a memorandum “Astrakhan State University named after V.N. Tatishchev " in order to develop the educational sphere, joint educational and scientific projects are being carried out and work continues on the above issues.
Since September 2023, in accordance with the new structure of the Urgench State University, the Faculty of Bioengineering and Food Safety was enlarged and became the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences. Also this year, another new direction "60820100 - Forestry and landscaping of settlements" will appear, in which a total of 190 students (46 of them men, 144 women) are studying in 4 directions, as well as several correspondence students.
To date, the department employs 10 teachers, including 3 associate professors, 1 senior lecturer, 6 teachers and trainee teachers.
The department has all the necessary laboratory equipment and inventory for students and teachers, and contracts have been signed with branches of research institutes, farms and greenhouses that grow crops both in the usual and hydroponic way for practical training. These include the Khorezm Scientific Experimental Station of the Research Institute of Vegetable Melons and Potato Growing, the Khorezm Scientific Experimental Station of the Research Institute of Grain and Leguminous Crops, the Khorezm Research Institute of Horticulture, Viticulture and Winemaking named after Academician Mahmud Mirzayev in the Agro-Industrial Complex, the Khorezm Scientific Experimental station of the Research Institute of Quarantine and Plant Protection, the Khorezm branch and a similar number of large enterprises.
To date, Sadullaev Sanzhar madiyarovich holds the position of head of the department.
