Today, 271 students with special needs study at Urganch State University. Among them, there are also young people with disabilities of sight, hearing and speech. A number of efforts are being made at the university so that these youth can get a quality education and take their place in society no less than others in the future.
In particular, in cooperation with the Khorezm regional branch of the Association of Disabled People of Uzbekistan, the Khorezm regional branch of the Society of the Deaf of Uzbekistan, and Urganch State University, a beneficial project for students is being implemented without neglecting every layer of youth in our society. Today, on May 18, a roundtable discussion was organized in order to unify the goals in this regard and define future tasks.
In it, UrSU vice-rector for Academic Affairs S. Khodjaniyozov, vice-rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual-Educational Work S. Davletov, chairman of the Khorezm regional branch of the Association of Disabled People K. Khusainov, Sh. Devonova, deaf interpreter of Khorezm regional branch of the Society of the Deaf of Uzbekistan, "Murojaat24.uz" internet publication reporter N. Masharipov and students-volunteers from all faculties of the university who are interested in deaf interpreters took part.
At the beginning of the roundtable discussion, it was discussed about the conditions created for students with disabilities at Urganch State University, and now it was touched upon the future plans to create more opportunities for such youth to get quality and continuous education.
At the meeting, the organization of training courses on learning a foreign language for the blind, the organization of training courses for volunteer students on deaf interpretation, the participation of deaf interpreters in video lessons, the creation of special training manuals for the blind, the organization of a group of deaf interpreters and the popularization of the field through them were discussed.
In this regard, many opinions of students and young people were listened to, their proposals were approved, and it was agreed to be active in cooperation.
