Today, on May 7, Urgench State University is holding a traditional memorial tournament in mathematics for students of secondary schools in our region. The memorial tournament is dedicated to the memory of Ismail Abdullayev, a mathematician, candidate of physics-mathematical sciences, associate professor, who worked effectively at Khorezm State Pedagogical Institute (now Urgench State University) in 1966-1995.
The opening ceremony was attended by well-known mathematicians, honorary teachers of the university, students of the scientist, professors and teachers of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Urgench State University, students and schoolchildren who want to participate in the tournament.
The event was opened by the first vice-rector of UrSU, D. Ibadullayev. Also, head of Khorezm Region Preschool and School Education Department H. Bektemirov and a group of professors of our university such as A. Jumaniyozov, H. Babajonov, K. Navruzov, E. Roziyev spoke and remembered the teacher. His life, scientific and creative researches, his worthy contribution to the field of mathematics, and continuing his work as a scientist today, recognized his followers who have their place in the society. We can say that this caused a greater interest in mathematics among schoolchildren who participated in the tournament.
After that, the participants of the Olympiad were explained about the rules and regulations of the tournament, wishing all the participants good luck, the procedures were started at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.
