Seminar training

Today, June 4, at the initiative of the faculty of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Beruni, a seminar-training on the topic “Engage, Explore, Empower: Professional Development for 21st Century English Teachers” was organized at the “Farovon” hotel in Khiva for English teachers of higher educational institutions in the Khorezm region.

The main goal of the event was to introduce English teachers to interactive, person-centered teaching methods, to introduce them to methodologies and strategies aimed at developing activity, critical thinking and cooperation in the lessons, and more than 40 English teachers participated in it.

During the training, teachers participated in practical exercises on moving away from traditional - teacher-centered approaches and towards modern - methods that see the student as an active participant. In particular, methods such as “Four Corners”, “Jigsaw Reading”, “1,2,3, Uzbekistan” made a great impression on the participants.

The training sessions were conducted by experienced trainers, Head of the Department of English Language and Literature, docent Rohatoy Abidova, and docent  of the department Feruza Masharipova. Wiley Roberts, Nargiza Hamraeyva, and Dilfuza Kuchkarova helped to organize the work of the groups effectively during the seminar training.
