Today, on February 21, a literary and artistic evening was held at Urganch State University on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the birth of Matnazar Abdulhakim, great poet and translator of Khorezm, a culture worker who served in Uzbekistan, a well-known public and statesman.
Representatives of Khorezm regional administration, a group of members of the Khorezm regional branch of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, well-known poets and writers, creators, contemporaries of Matnazar Abdulhakim, university management, professors and teachers of the Faculty of Philology and students took part in the artistic evening. The event was opened by the Rector of UrSU B.Abdullayev with an introductory speech.
Khorezm has long been the homeland of poets and artists. The work of Matnazar Abdulhakim, the great poet of the old region, who actively participated in the current literary process, left a noble name and a beautiful creative heritage, and made a significant contribution to the development of Uzbek literature, has taken a deep place in the hearts of all lovers of literature. Those who spoke at the event spoke about the great poet's life and work, his literary heritage, as well as his human qualities.
During the artistic evening, the students performed a poem by the poet, beautiful songs and dances of Khorezm, presented stage performances, and shared a festive mood with those gathered.
