On May 17-20 of this year, the Republican final stage of the “Student League” sports competitions in wrestling is being held at Urgench State University. A total of 252 participants from 14 regions of our republic are participating in the competition.
The opening ceremony of the competition was held today. The Acting Rector of Urgench State University, S.Khodjaniyazov, the First President of the Student Sports Association of Uzbekistan E.Kadirov, and the Head of the Khorezm Regional Department of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations Z. Sa'dullayev spoke at the event, emphasizing the great role of the “Student League” sports competitions in forming a healthy lifestyle among young people, strengthening patriotism and team spirit.
It was noted that sports competitions serve not only to improve physical fitness, but also to strengthen friendships between students. It was noted that today the state pays increasing attention to sports and such competitions are a great incentive for students.
At the end of the opening ceremony, the competition was officially declared open and the preliminary wrestling matches began.
The competition will last until May 20, and the winning teams will be awarded in a solemn ceremony.
