Today, on May 20, the opening ceremony of the new building of the Information Resource Center of the Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni and the Peking-Urgench Mathematics Center was held. The event was attended by the university leadership, famous scientists, students, foreign guests and representatives of regional organizations.
The ceremony was opened by the acting rector of UrSU S.Khodjaniyazov and the deputy governor of Khorezm region S.Salayev with introductory remarks, wishing that this library will serve the further development of science in our region.
In their congratulatory speeches, the Chairman of the Committee on Science, Education and Health of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis B.Abdullayev, Academic Gang Tian, Director of Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research, Peking University, Professor of the University of California Z.Ibragimov, Professor of the Urgench State University O.Jumaniyozov, and the builder of the building R.Abdullayev spoke and sincerely congratulated everyone on the commissioning of this scientific institution. They noted that such reforms are the result of the high attention paid to education in our country and expressed confidence that this building will create a foundation for young people to gain deeper knowledge in the future.
After that, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held, and the guests had the opportunity to get acquainted with the conditions of the new building.
This modern Information Resource Center of Urgench State University is a scientific and educational center that creates an environment conducive to scientific research and serves the intellectual development of youngsters. This building serves 1,000 users at a time. The library has a Peking-Urgench Mathematics Center, a 506-seat activist hall, a museum reflecting the history and scientific heritage of the university, two 100-seat lecture halls named after our great encyclopedic scientists on each floor, and other modern facilities.
We are confident that this center will become a useful scientific resource not only for students, but also for professors, teachers, and aspiring youngsters.
