The first meeting of the Scientific Council of  Peking-Urgench Mathematics Center was held

On December 30, 2024, in accordance with the cooperation agreement signed between Urgench State University and the Beijing International Mathematical Research Center, Peking-Urgench International Mathematics Center named after the founder of algebra and algorithms, the great scientist Muhammad Al-Khorezmi, was established at UrSU.

Today, on May 20, the first meeting of the Scientific Council of the center was held at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Beruni  in connection with the opening of this center. The members of the delegation led by Academic Gang Tian, Director of Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research, Peking University, B.Abdullayev, Chairman of the Committee on Science, Education and Health of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, and vice-rectors of Urgench State University G.Urazbayev, Z.Ibragimov, and professor teachers of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics attended in the meeting.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the main goals of this cooperation, including future plans for the development of modern areas of mathematics, the implementation of measures aimed at improving the quality of education in the field of mathematics and the effectiveness of scientific research. Negotiations were also held on the appointment of a director for the center.

It is worth noting that during its activities, this center carries out the following main tasks:
Selecting talented youngsters and directing them to science on the basis of the center; 
Promoting mathematics in the international arena;
Organizing international summer camps for young mathematicians;
Organizing summer semesters for foreign students under the slogan "We will study algebra - in the homeland of algebra";
Organizing a popular scientific journal "Journal of Mathematics";
Developing modern areas of mathematics by organizing post-doctoral programs.
