On September 4, in Riga, Latvia, with the participation of Uzbekistan’s Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations, Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov, the “First Uzbekistan–Latvia Education Forum” was held.
The prestigious event was attended by officials from the Ministries of Higher Education of both countries, as well as around 50 heads of leading higher education institutions, including acting rector of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni, S.Khodjaniyazov, and Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, G.O‘razboyev.
The forum aimed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in education and science, implement joint projects, expand student and faculty exchanges, and establish joint educational programs.
During the forum, acting rector S.Khodjaniyazov delivered a lecture on “Modern Approaches and Opportunities to Strengthen the Integration of Education, Science, and Production.”
Additionally, within the forum framework, a cooperation agreement was signed with Latvia’s Daugavpils University. Agreements were reached with ISMA University of Applied Sciences and the Baltic International Academy to organize scientific conferences, implement academic mobility programs, and establish summer schools for students.
