Today, at the initiative of the Faculty of Foreign Philology, an international scientific-practical conference on "Issues of modern and comparative linguistics, comparative literature, translation studies" is being held at Urganch State University. The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by scientists from foreign and partner universities of our republic, university management, professors and teachers of the Faculty of Foreign Philology, and students.
This conference is designed to bring together researchers, practitioners and teachers interested in comparative linguistics, translation studies and foreign language teaching at all levels around the world. In addition, it is a practical expression of the decisions of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Cabinet of Ministers aimed at popularizing the study of foreign languages in our country.
Rector of UrSU B.Abdullayev opened the conference with an introductory speech and wished the conference progress. Congratulatory words of Z. Ibragimov, Professor O. Jumaniyozov, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Philology Z. Jumaniyozov were also heard.
After that, it was the turn of the plenary meeting of the conference, in which the lectures of the scientists included in the agenda were heard from the hall and through the Zoom platform.
The conference continues its work in the branches in the afternoon.
