“Enlightenment and Interethnic Tolerance” — Uzbekistan, a Land of Tolerance

Today, at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni, a roundtable discussion titled “Uzbekistan — A Land of Tolerance” was held under the motto “Enlightenment and Interethnic Tolerance” in celebration of November 16 — International Day for Tolerance.

The event was attended by representatives of various nationalities and religions, officials from partner organizations, university professors, and students. The discussion was moderated by Zafar Ibragimov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Innovation.

Speakers included R.Sobitov, Deputy Khokim of Khorezm Region; D. Rajabov, activist of the “Uzbek–Turkmen Friendship Society” and head of the “Ulli Hovli” complex; and Kh. Kenjayev, Deputy Representative of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan in the region.
They shared their views on the ongoing reforms in the country aimed at further strengthening interethnic harmony, religious tolerance, and mutual respect.

The main goal of the event was to strengthen interethnic harmony and tolerance in society, foster patriotism and devotion among youth, cultivate respect for national and universal values, and expand cultural and educational ties with foreign countries.

During the artistic segment of the roundtable, representatives of different nationalities showcased their people’s rich cultural heritage through national songs and dances. Their performances once again demonstrated how deeply rooted the values of tolerance and friendship are in our country.
